Don’t sign up with an agency without asking these important questions

Choosing the best agency to work with is the first step to assure you have a happy surrogacy experiences.  Here is a list of recommended questions you ask an agency before making a commitment.

1. How long has the agency been in business?
2. How many surrogate arrangements has the agency facilitated? How many over the last year?
3. How long does it usually take to be matched with intended parents?
4. Will you have a say in who you are matched with?
5. What is the base salary and how are payments made?
6. Will I have a dedicated surrogate coordinator to assist me each step of the way?
7. Is there someone available to answer emergency questions 24/7? What is that process?
8. Are counseling services provided?
9. Does the agency have Errors and Omissions insurance and liability insurance?
10. Does the agency provide any legal services to surrogates?
11. What type of support do they offer to their surrogates?Above all, trust your gut instinct. The agency you work with will be your guidance and support throughout the process.  Make sure you like them, trust them and feel that your needs have been heard and you can communicate easily with them.
